So much love for this piece!! The perfect little details, the gorgeous swirl pattern, the simple shapes, and the top rat is just so darn happy. So cute and wonderful - thank you for sharing your art & good luck with your NY show!
Thanks! I work full time at a game studio right now, but I freelance for animation studios in my free time and I am currently waiting to hear back about a pitch I did. Are you looking to do animation after you graduate?
Oh my God, ARTGASM!!! These are absolutely gorgeous! I've just discovered needle felting for myself and I'm hooked! It's the most therapeutic, forgiving way to sculpt, and the addition of paperclay is seriously a revelation to me, will have to try it out!
Hey there, thanks for asking! It's not, I'm not totally sure how points work on DA but from what I've gleaned it seems to be kind if like arcade tokens or tickets, right? A form of currency that's not quite worth the value of the cost to purchase them and redeemed for things like hats and shirts? Im actually curious to find out more about how it works.
If points do work that way, as a whole I really dislike that kind of system, I've never much been into bartering and I feel that it can be deceptive; an artist is offered 1000 points for a finished piece when in reality that's only like a few bucks; it SEEMS like a whopping amount in points but based in the nature of points and marketing in DA, it doesn't get you much, at least for me, since I have no interest in merch from DA and I make my own prints at home.
All that said, this piece is on its way to a gallery in NY for a group plush show and it can be bought either opening night on the 18th or via the gallery's website for $275.
I am sorry that turned into a mini rant, I don't think you were at all out of place to ask and I am grateful that you showed interest in it! <3 I also dont think you were trying to stiff me or anything, i really am just irked by the concept of points in general, its not for me. this is the first time I have been asked something like that so I thought I would put some questions out there.
