At the Last Dusty Fountain by Steph-Laberis At the Last Dusty Fountain by Steph-Laberis
*slaps forehead* I can't believe I haven't uploaded this yet! I sculpted this 4 years ago for my freshman 3D course. It's a fully functional tabletop fountain, based off of the opening credits to "The Last Unicorn" (which was based off of 'The Hunt of the Unicorn Tapestries - absolutely breathtaking works of art). This piece is about 14'' tall.

The miniature beige fountain, lion heads, unicorn, stag and "island" on which they rest are all made from sculpey and painted with acrylics. The plants are plastic, the bowl is metal and the grass is reptile moss. I have to say, despite this piece being horribly old, I am quite fond of it. Comments welcome!

Hey would you consider making another fountain for a commission? I would kill to have one and I am not worried about price!

Hey there! Thanks for the inquiry ^_^ Unfortunately I don't have the time this year to make something this elaborate, I have work and a lot of side projects underway. :( If you're willing to wait then we could talk about things towards the end of the year, but if that's too long I completely understand.

I am quite familiar with the tapestry as well as the movie and you did a phenomenal job bringing it to a 3d format. The deer looks exactly like the deer in the tapestry. You have created a truly awe inspiring work of art. I am glad you took out the more disturbing elements of the fountain tapestry, IE the huntsmen closing in . It adds to the aesthetic beauty of the work

*gasp* I LOVE THIS!!!!! Oh, it bring back such fond memories. I used to watch the last unicorn three times in a row as a kid, I adored it to pieces. This is a really great work of art even not knowing what the last unicorn is and having those great childhood memories, but it is especially awesome for people such as myself who knew exactly what this was before I ever opened the thumbnail. <3

This made me gasp a little when I saw it- What lovely work. :) And the fact that it's an actual fountain makes it all the more incredible.

Not to mention that a lot of fond memories are attached to that movie.

It is an amazing piece really! I don't mean to stroke your ego but it's really beautiful to some one who can't even make a decent tea pot in ceramics. TvT I commend you good person. It is an amazing piece. You have good reason to be proud of it even if it old!~~

This is incredibly awesome! lol A collector's dream come true, you took the scene from the beginning credits of the movie, and literally recreated it into a miniature water-fountain. Ahhh, I wish a better photo is taken so I can inspect all the details that went into this, but this is so gorgeous! I loved that movie, TLU.
Please stop and take a look at some of my fanart devoted to the movie. :) Thanks!

Magnificent work! It looks very much like those tapestries, indeed. The colours are perfect.

The one time I made a fountain was my sophomore year in high school. It was Sleeping Beauty's castle. I spent MONTHS on it. Everything was so perfect....then my teacher over fired it and it cracked everywhere. I hated that woman.

Thank you very, very much! *beams* I'm glad to find another TLU fan on DA; it's one of the most underrated animated movies I can think of. Especially that opening with the tapestry *drools*
